Job Title: Medical Billing Assistant (No Walk-ins)

Location: 3rd Floor MEA Building Benito Labao St, Saray, Iligan City

Position Summary:

The Medical Billing Assistant is responsible for supporting the billing department in managing patient data, verifying insurance coverage, processing claims, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication abilities. The ideal candidate will be motivated, polite, and willing to learn.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Data Entry:

• Manage and maintain accurate patient data in the system.
• Input insurance payments and process billing information.
• Update patient records with payment statuses and billing details.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of billing data.
• Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.

2. Insurance Verification:

• Verify patients’ insurance coverage and eligibility.
• Contact insurance companies to confirm patient benefits and coverage details.
• Update patient records with insurance verification information.

3. Assisting Medical Billers:

• Support medical billers with various tasks as assigned.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of claims.
• Help in resolving billing issues and discrepancies.
• Provide administrative support to the billing department.

4. Claims Follow-Up and Disputes:

• Call insurance companies to follow up on unpaid or underpaid claims.
• Dispute denied claims and work towards resolution.
• Document and track all communication with insurance companies.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of billing reports and summaries.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance representatives.
